Update 15/7/09 - just took this one and it is a better bumblebee pic than the one below taken the day before. Bumblebee obsession seems to have kicked in.
Big fat bumblebee. They are so furry looking it is tempting to pat them.
How cute is it?! I love it. The flowers are really pretty too.
(the red/brown background is a bit distracting, but I know you cant do much about that when you are taking photos of a bee! Maybe a bit of photoshop could be fun, making it look like it's in more of a natural setting?)
The fuzziness is SO cute...is it weird to want a pet bee now?? :D
I was annoyed about the window box getting in the way too! I will have to give Photoshop a try when I have the time. Could be fun. The flowers are on our spring onion/shallot plants.
The top photo is great. I'm glad you added it because you were definitely onto a good thing with the bees (and all your insect photos for that matter). The composition is nice and also the depth of field (good bokeh too. did you get a new lens?). The details of the bee are incredible and it's very sharp. Your photos are getting better and better and better! Nice work! I look forward to seeing your next post!
You capture bugs really well - the dragonfly below is really awesome too! Wow for freezing such small and fast little things in focus like that! Great great detail!

These are beautiful photos. I do like the top one the best. The detail in his wings and 'fur' (and the flower) are great.
What fantastic bee photos! I love the detail! They are very in focus too, great job!
