Quick commentary on a couple of the photos: 110 - It may not look like much, but there was a high degree of difficulty in taking this photo :) VSLS12S2-100 - I kind of cheated on this one. I took this photo in Aug last year. When I joined the blog, I thought that I'd redo the photo for the Numbers challenge. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to stop the next time we were up in Sydney and went past this sign, so I didn't get a chance to reshoot it ... so I cheated and used the original photo I took ...
I'm very curious about how you took that first photo??? Surely you weren't the one driving? I think it's a pretty neat photo parttly just because of that mystery! I really like the photo with the coins, the colours and texture are great!
I like having a man participating in these topics...it really shows a different point of view. (These photos are really "blokey", but in a good way :)
with the "how deep" photo - the road in the top left corner distracts me. It looks like half has been cloned out where the grass is?? Also the pole to the top right of the water indicator could have been hidden if you moved slightly.
The coin shot is my fav - the detail is great & I love the grunginess. I also want to know if you were the one driving while you took the first & last photos!!
In regards to who was driving when I took the top photo - I plead the 5th. Last photo wasn't taken whilst driving, but it was pretty hard finding the right sign and right place to stop on the M7 Motorway :)
The How Deep picture isn't shopped at all apart from fixing the levels - the road is no lonbger in use and that's how the road actually is. I did try to angle the shot to get rid of the pole, but was restricted by a desire not to fall into fierce running water :) I might try cloning it out.
I love the photos you posted for this topic! You are so good with coming up with such a variety of pictures that fit into the topic of numbers! That is crazy the road is overgrown with grass like that! Is that road the old road going out towards Tidbinbilla? I think the 110 photo is cool, and the coin photo is also my favorite. I used to have a coin collection growing up. Is that your coin collection? If so, it's very very impressive! How did you get coins from all those countries?
Kalista - the road is the old road that used to go to Point Hut Crossing, so yes, out to Tidbinbilla. And yes, my coin collection from when I was a kid. My parents had travelled to a number of countries as rewards from Dad's work when I was a kid, so I ended up with the leftover coins when they got back from their trips. I also picked up some from coin shops, etc.
Love the 100 speed sign! Perfect sky in the background! The coins are great too. I probably would have also tried to photoshop the 1905 penny on top of another photo with the rest of the coins slightly out of focus as I like the soft focus of the coins at the top of this photo, but feel a bit distracted by the in focus coins at the bottom, feels a bit uneven to me (a bit of obsessivness...)
