These are all really great. I love the top photo... the colour, the twinkling stars. Looks like a little snow globe night scene. I like Jayde vs moth photo a lot too. The angle of the lights, the way she it lit up. I find the Old Parliament House photos slightly spooky. I like the patterns the lights make on the roof. Mercedes. A beautiful piece of design and engineering. I like the colour hues all being fairly monochrome too. Would have worked well for shapes too.
Gordon Night is wonderful - I love all the houses & shapes in it. The exposure is really good too.
I agree that the Old Parliament House lights are spooky. I think it's the colouring & contrast. I really like it. I would be interested in knowing how you processed this one - it almost looks like a HDR photo.
I really love the Gordon nights!!! I love the detail in it and the colour. I am glad Jayde vs moths was kept in too. I like the square lights and the dark square 'windows'. I agree with the Mercedes lights too, it could have also fitted the 'reflection' topic.
Re the Old Parliament House lights, I used a Photoshop plugin that I quite like, simply called Soft Focus. It's designed as a soft focus tool for portraits, however I use several hard light settings on dark, moody pictures to try and give a bit of "oomph". I never actually use that plugin for what it was designed for :) Pretty sure it was from this site: http://www.photo-plugins.com/

I cheated on the Old Parliament House photo - it's actually a photo I took in Oct last year, but thought it fitted the topic really well.

Ahh - gotta love the orange glow of suburbia at night.
I love the one with Jayde in it - love the repetition of squares.
My favourite is definitely the Old Parliament house lights. Love the pattern the lights cast & the great shadows
Wonderful photos! I'm glad you still posted the Old Parliament House photo. You are right, it does fit the topic really well, and I love it!
