architecture-sorry for being late!

I'm sorry I am so late on posting pictures for my own topic! I took these photos a day before the assignment was over with and then for some reason forgot to post them that night. I was also kind of rushed when I took these photos, and I didn't really feel like I got any good shots. Anyway sorry for the delay! But I am super excited for the reflections assignment and I will try to keep up better from now on!

P.S. You guys all did such an amazing job on the architecture photos! I am so impressed by all of them! They all turned out so well, and I thought it was really neat to see all the different buildings and architecture styles throughout the posts!

Getting in quickly before I go to bed! I didn't get what I was planning this fortnight....but here are some from Tuesday evening when the sky was looking good, and I thought it would create a different atmosphere for photos of these well known Canberra buildings :)

Sorry for 3 posts on this topic but yesterday I went to a women's conference and found some interesting architecture to photograph...Riegersburg (castle) 1138.

I love the details on the buildings in Vienna. Every building seems to have something on it to make it a bit more pretty. These photo are with my point and shoot camera as I walked to pick up the kids from school.

These first two pictures are from the same building.

Lots of graffiti here...same in every city I think. I like the 1930s feel to the garage.

The mix of old and new isn't always great. I originally cropped out the sign but then you don't get the right feel for this building. This details on this one are great...then the bright yellow Billa sign for the supermarket on the ground floor.

Urania isn't a very old building (1910) but it is lovely. It is a kino (cinema).

Melbourne would be (should have been) a great place to take architecture photos but I always had two cranky kids with me and didn't really manage to give it a good go. (the ones I could think to compose were taken in Federation square but they all look to predictable and a bit touristy, which I think can be a trap of taking photos in a category like this, especially when one is on holiday). I took these two when I was waiting for my tram on Bourke St.

I took this one because it reminded me of the photo Bindi took with the tram lines (which I really liked).

(I liked the colours with the green in the windows. Other photos I took picked up the colours better but they don't look quite straight. Something about too many lines and not being close enough maybe?

Went for a big long walk around the lake as a family on Saturday (what a BEAUTIFUL day!!) and got a few good snaps when we stopped for a break at the National Museum :)

These are all buildings in the block around us. Tram lines get in the way of most of the pictures unfortunately.

New Topic: Architecture!

I thought this would be a fun assignment because it's not something I normally take pictures of. This can be a vary broad category because there are so many different areas of architecture to choose from.

I found this website http://photo.net/learn/architectural/exterior that has some tips and ideas for taking architecture photography. I liked the first quote saying that " Architectural photography at its best will convey the experience of being in and around a built environment." I hope you guys have fun with this assignment, and I can't wait to see what you come up with!
