Beth - Black & White

It was quite a windy day, so I was experimenting with different shutter speeds, to get a bit of movement of the grass in some shots, and in other shots to get the grass frozen in the wind.

Bindi - Black & White

This picture was too washed out in colour because the sun was right behind her. However I think that the effect in black and white is nice (even with that gappy mouth!)

Black and White - Emma

The last photo is like a documentary "behind the scenes" of Beth's photography :) I wasn't planning on using it as one of my photos - I just snapped it off while she was taking photos, but I quite liked how it turned out!

Kalista-black and white

I was playing around with "threshold" tool in photoshop and came up with this photo.

This bird is already grey and white and the background is brown, so changing it to black and white actually didn't change the picture much!

NEW TOPIC - BLACK & WHITE

{from Beth} - I would like to have a shot at B&W photography (as it has been so long since I have done it). There are lots of things to think about when taking a photo in B&W (have a read about the zone system, if you have not done it before).

I guess it is a bit different these days (as opposed to when I started photography) being able to change the photo very easily from colour to B&W - but I thought it would be a good one to do anyway, as some photos look better in B&W, others better in colour.
